The Mexican Wolf (Canis lupus baileyi), is a of the most endangered species on the planet, since it disappeared in the years 70s due to the indiscriminate hunting caused by the ranchers of the northern Mexico and southern United States, which, like in Spain and the Most of the world, wolves have been hunted and attacked, mainly by ranchers as well as stories, myths and legends where They appear as evil beings, which attack people, however, they do not There are records of wolf attacks on humans, mainly it happens inversely.

We are currently fighting against all odds to recover the species and be able to reintroduce the Mexican Wolf to its natural habitat in Mexico, As well, a small population of Mexican wolves has already been re-introduced on the borders of New Mexico and Arizona, however the lack of budget and interest of the Mexican government has caused the reintroduction in Mexico has been suspended since 2018 and until date there is no date for its continuation.


The Lince Foundation has carried out the largest education program environmental in Mexico of the Mexican Wolf, reaching more than one million students of all educational levels since we started this project in 2007, both in our school excursion program as directly in schools and virtually to hundreds of thousands more, as well Our organization works in direct collaboration with the Sanctuary of the Mexican Wolf "Zero Extinction",  supporting conservation work of the species in-situ.
